Future Ready Initiative

Future Ready Initiative

Focus Humanitarian Assistance (FOCUS) Canada is pleased to have partnered with the Aga Khan Council for Canada on the Future Ready Initiative (FRI) – an integrated, institutional response to the significant and urgent challenges faced by those whose livelihoods have been impacted by the pandemic, forced migration and downturns in the economy. FRI is designed to help individuals look ahead and plan for the future.

The FRI is composed of five pillars:

  1. Family Mentorship Program
  2. Future of Work / Future of Business
  3. Mental Health
  4. Youth Mentorship
  5. Settlement Excellence

The FRI supports FOCUS’ objective of preparedness, response, recovery and rebuilding of communities and individuals faced with natural and man-made disasters. Through FOCUS, funding grants are accessed to support professional staff, program development and training for FRI, which focuses on mental health, job skill development and upskilling, youth mentorship, and family mentorship.
